We ran a successful experiment last year with 14 groups and about 50 asks. The plan over the next three months is to demonstrate this works at a larger scale by recruiting 100 charities and voluntary/community groups from across the city – of different sizes, in different locations and of different focus areas.
Our Ask Authors work with charities to formulate an 'Ask', which can entail anything from funds, to equipment, spaces, volunteers and specialist expertise.
Asks are then pushed into the network of connectivity throughout Bristol, finding businesses, individuals and organizations able and willing to fulfil those Asks.
Finally, the match is formalised and the giver contacts the asker to notify them of their willingness to help out. They then work together to complete the Ask.
