“We are a group of Black women of Afrikan / Caribbean descent who are committed to the empowerment of those who have historically been denied a voice. We are based in Bristol and are the UK’s only Black Women’s Playback Theatre company. We acknowledge that by sharing individual and collective stories, we tap in to the griot (Afrikan storytelling) which is grounded in our ancestral heritage.”
“An entirely voluntary enterprise, the Playhouse is a charity that aims to advance the education of the public in the Arts, in particular the Arts of Drama and Literature. We are only successful in this venture by the hard work and dedication of those involved at the theatre. To become more involved with the Playhouse, please become a member by clicking here. As a thank you for your membership, you are entitled to a discount on the in-house productions.”

“BS3 Community Development was founded in 1991 to improve the lives of people living in BS3 and the surrounding area. We run two community venues; the Southville Centre and the Chessel Centre.
BS3 Community Development is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee and as a social business we reinvest surplus generated from our profitable services into educational, arts, environmental, health and wellbeing projects that we either run directly or support partners to deliver.
At BS3 Community Development we are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity and access, celebrating diversity, and promoting inclusion and belonging. These concepts are not just crucial in relation to our service users but are important for our employees and the wider community too.”
